Christian Søgaard

IMDB

Christian Søgaard is a filmmaker who writes and directs intimate films. His work  is melancholic, unpolished, and honest about human emotions. He favours sparse, weighted dialogue that lets the unsaid do the heavy lifting. His visual sensibility as a director uses symbolic imagery, poetry and an authenticity to his stories.

He is not afraid of working with actors to go that extra mile. Showing characters that suffer quietly, authentically, in ways that feel uncomfortably real. In fiction, he has done more work in the realm of short films, but he has more narrative projects under his belt with music videos and commercials.

If you were to categorise him, his films would feel at home in the darker corners of contemporary Scandinavian cinema, asking the questions on how ordinary people live their lives, experience trauma, and whether they can ever truly heal.

He has worked with clients including Adidas, Puma, DOGA, the National Museum in Norway, Intel, Lenovo, Xbox and Netflix Nordics.
