Poetry becomes content

AUR has produced two films in which the poet Amir Shaheen reads his own poems from his new collection "Minoriteten."
The poetry collection "Minoriteten" by Amir Shaheen is published by Lyrikkforlaget on April 21, and together with AUR he has created two films based on the poems, used to get them circulating on social media.
"Minoriteten" is raw poetry. About boys who become men far too soon. About a love that crosses borders.
Both films are built around a poem of their own, each with its own nerve inside the same universe. The film is calmer in form, but close. Both films were shot at Oslo Fotostudio with a small, tight team. No big rig. Just text, voice, light and a camera.
At AUR the model is simple: what drives us is each person's own projects and their passion. When Amir comes to us with a poetry collection that puts words to what many people can't manage to say, it feels natural to make something around it. Not because it's a job, but because it means something.
"It's about saying as much as possible with the fewest possible means," says director Christian Søgaard. "With Amir's texts, the job was to not stand in the way of the words, but to give them a room where they could hit even harder and bring us closer to Amir. These films aren't just promotion for a book. The goal is that they have an expression of their own, one that lives alongside the poems."
One small thing worth flagging: this text says the release date is April 21, but I've had it noted elsewhere as May 25. Worth double-checking which is correct before this goes out. Want me to put this in a doc?
